Working With Layers

Now, lets talk about Layers. So i begin to worked on my E-wallpaper with the most basic step that is

 

Then click the layer@targetting the layer.Because of my festival is Durian Festival, I named the layer Durians

Then i used the quick selection tool to select and cut the part of the picture i don't want

and~~~~ after that I deleted layer 1 and layer 2  to get 

the final image (for the image 1 of e-wallpaper) that i wanted

Click the dustbin or trashcan like Icon to delete the layers..

and finally  

the remaining image will become like this

TADA !!!!!!!!!! The work is still not clean though. Anyway, i'm a beginner, what do you expect??

haha As mdm Lydia said, we can't be a professional in just one day. Besides I learn to explore the photoshop by myself and with the help from Mdm lydia tutorial teaching outline.

For me this quite an achievement =D

Anyway, this is the only the beginning of my e-wallpaper project. Gonna update the progess as soon as possible. (^~^)/

The Basics

Actually , I'm a total beginner if i want to talk about Photoshop.To put it in simple way , my knowledge about photoshop is nearly 0% and basically if there is a book "Learning Adobe Photoshop for Dummies" seriously , i might buy that book. Anyway , let's get started

Since i'm a beginner, so i think i'll explain the basic things also ..

First,Open a blank page so that you can try out some of Photoshop’s tools.Then, enter a title : New Page or leave it untitled. Then for Image Size ... If the paper or screen size you need is not listed,choose Custom and enter the dimensions.   For now, choose Default Photoshop Size. This gives you a seven-by-five inch work area, a convenient size for most projects. 

-          If you have an image copied on the clipboard, when you open a new page, the dialog box will automatically show the size of the copied image. (Exp: Try print Screen).

        Resolution refers to the number of dots-of-ink-per-inch (if you’re printing) or pixels-per-inch (if you’re looking at the computer screen).  It’s important because the resolution of the image determines the quality.   Higher resolution gives you a better quality image but uses more memory. Most images that you see in print have a resolution of 150 dpi to 300 dpi-or dots-per-inch. Your computer’s monitor has a dpi of 72. Therefore you always set the resolution depending on what your output will be. For now, keep the resolution at 72 dpi because we’re just looking at the screen. For the same reason, set the Mode to RGB Color. RGB color is the kind of color that monitors display. Click the button to set the page contents to White. This gives you a white “canvas” to paint on.

New Plan for the wallpaper festival

Since the post before this is about tour , i think its not very suitable with the theme that the lecturers wanted. So i decided to go with the Fruit festival name 'Jackson County Apple Festival ' . The Jackson County Apple Festival is an annual festival dedicated to the apple held in Jackson, Ohio, United States. The festival was created to promote Jackson's County leading agricultural product, which at the time was grown by over forty farms in the area. The Unique group was Born

On 7.10.2010
 This is the date of the first week for computer graphics lecture. We were given two tasks. 1st , festival wallpaper and 2nd , a group assignment , which is to make a calendar.

1st assignment :
Wallpaper. i've got some ideas on how to make it. I decided to go with the Water Sport Festival , like Skimboarding Festival. For those who don't know skimboarding , it is a type of sport that is kinda like surfing and to make it simple, skim is a smaller version of surf.Since that sport is getting popular , so i might as well do the wallpaper about it. Of course , i like to use a model. hehe but i hope that i can make a nice wallpaper though ^^

2nd assignment :
Calendar . We formed a group of 6. Me, Fina , Mira, Fatin, Dibah and Ainul. All of us had different personalities but shares the same interests. I think that's why we can get along well.It will makes us work together much more easy.Anyway, the group members chosed me to be the leader. I'm not that talented compare to the others but since they put their faith on me. I will try my best to lead them.The theme for our calendar is Zodiac. :D this one we will used models too. XD We will update again about the progress. By the way , our group name is Perfect Pixels. Our artworks may not be perfect , but we'll make it the best that we  produced.
